Excellent Educator & Teacher of the Year - Putnam City Schools Foundation

All across the district, teachers are nominated to be their school’s teacher of the year. A committee created through the curriculum office evaluates each school level winner and chooses the top five candidates, collectively known in Putnam City as Excellent Educators.

These five candidates then participate in interviews with the Putnam City Schools Foundation Board of Trustees who rank their top person to be district Teacher of the Year. In consultation with the curriculum office’s committee, the winner is announced at a reception in March of each year. Every school is there to cheer their winner on, who will be presented at the event.
